How NOT To Deal With Stress
Stress the catch all word for all that ails you. According to the American Medical Association stress is the cause of 85% of the illness that effect the body. Now the question to ask is how do you stop stress so you won’t get sick?
There are several techniques for dealing with the physical and emotional causes and consequences of stress. Short-term symptom relief and long-term cures for chronic stress are possible. But there are many common strategies employed that are counter-productive. There are a million ways to go wrong. Here are some of the more typical errors.
In an attempt to alleviate the tension and worry that accompany stress, some individuals will unwittingly engage in self-destructive behavior.
The stress that can lead to being short-tempered can urge someone to lash out angrily at a trusted friend or loved one. It can incline some to excessive alcohol drinking or coffee drinking with the result of high caffeine intake, leading to more stress symptoms. It can lead to aggressive or violent behavior.
One of the most common results of stress is insomnia. When something is troubling you, and you are physically uncomfortable, it’s difficult to relax enough to sleep. When you do manage to fall asleep, it’s often interrupted during the night, or not the type of deep sleep that is genuinely restful.
Taking a sleeping medication may be helpful in some situations, but long term dependence on any kind of drug to deal with life’s problems is self-defeating. Instead, learn and use some simple meditation techniques to focus the mind and induce a relaxing state.
A heightened focus on problem solving is natural for some types of individuals. But obsessing, even in the face of serious issues, is counter-productive. Try to see the problem as you would if it were being experienced by a friend. You would be concerned, of course. We’re often much better at maintaining objectivity when the problem belongs to someone else.
Some people try to cope with stress by doing the right thing for the wrong reasons. Throwing oneself into projects at work is one way of shifting focus away from problems at home. But avoidance can only be partially successful, and only temporarily at that.
Some problems do go away on their own and ignoring them can be a viable strategy. But circumstances combined with evaluations that lead to chronic stress do not disappear simply because we’re not thinking about them. A temporary break to gain perspective and get the emotions under control is healthy. Hiding one’s head in the sand is not.
Fundamentally, all these incorrect and unhelpful methods have a common root. Reality doesn’t go away when some aspects of it are inconvenient or unpleasant. Life is filled with obstacles placed in the way of achieving values. The existence of those hurdles and the need to overcome them – when combined with doubts about our ability to do so – leads to stress.
Now that you have been given some insight on how not to deal with stress….. Let’s begin dealing with stress by learning how to stop living in the past and accepting the 24/7 doom and gloom for the future. All you have is the present moment. Focus on what makes you feel really good and can put a smile on your face and you are on the road to kicking the stress out of your life.
Is Your Timing Right?
The Anthem of the Soul:
To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven.
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
What time are you living…..Inquiring minds want to know

A New Year For and About Families
It’s 2011 and that means new life and energy in every area of our lives. Each new year has a universal vibration. The universal vibration for this year (2011) is the vibration of the number 4.
The number 4 represents Family and Work. The number 4 has three levels of characteristics: Constructive (good); Negative (bad); and Destructive (worst).
- Constructive: Practicality; service; patience; organization; application; devotion; conservatism; dignity; economy; trust; worthiness; endurance; loyalty
- Negative: Narrowness; repression; clumsiness; dogmatism; crudeness; restriction; rigidity;sternest;dullness
- Destructive: Vulgarity; hatred; animalism; violence; jealousy; inhumanity; resistance; destruction; cruelty
In a 4 vibrational year that means getting back to the basics. Things that were practical; economical and beneficial yesterday can still be found useful today. We have just experienced a great economic shake-up (the mortgage and foreclosure crisis) that is now a reality check for many families as it relates to values and life style. Things will never be the same, as we begin to level off slowly from our flying high lifestyle experiences of yesterday. In this new year under the vibration of the number 4 we will have to secure a new and solid foundation,which is a vital force that is needed to know, feel, and experience peace in our lives. The energy of 2011 will be To Build.
In the spirit of the vibration for 2011, which is family and work, makes this an excellent time to reconnect with family members, biological and extended. This is the time for families and communities to come together and lay a foundation that is based on Collective Work and Responsibility.
In this New Year it is very important that families LEARN the following:
- How to TRUST each other
- How to WORK TOGETHER to create something that can be passed on from generation to generation
- How to be PATIENT with each other during the developmental stages of the growth and building process
- How to be SUPPORTIVE, positive and encouraging with each other
These attributes lay the foundation in building a family business or working on family project. Just take a moment and visualize families working together creating jobs; improving health conditions; teaching youth life skills, while showing them the power that exist in a family. If you can see the vision, let the number 4 vibration of 2011 be the year that you and your family begin to build a better quality of life that will make a difference in your family for generations to come.
I invite you to step out on faith and do what it is you love and are passionate about… 2011 is the year of Families Working Together
Comfort Zone or Self Imposed Prison
“Remaining in a self imposed prison blocks living life to its fullest“…..Rey
Hombre
When I hear the word comfort zone I think of living life to its fullest enjoying
and having all the blessing I am created to have. To live comfortablely is what
most people say they want. When this question is asked, the answer is usually making enough money to pay all my debts. Then the next question is, what are you doing to make this happen. The answer is nothing. I say nothing because most people live each day doing the same old things every day, day in and day out. This is why your comfort zone becomes your self imposed prison. You may be asking how is that. You are told that a comfort zone is how you live, work, and socialize in environments that you have grown accustom too. In essences, how you live determines your type of friends and the people you associate with. The bottom line is, your definition of comfort zone determines the life style you choose to accept or reject. If comfort is defined as satisfaction; a cause or matter of relief or to give strength and hope to, why is your comfort zone a self imposed prison?
You often hear “you need to step out of your comfort zone”. Hearing this means change and is reason to cause most people to find so many reason why they should not. To make the change is the key that opens the door to your self imposed prison. We have the key to unlock the prison cell, but we choose not to use it. The reason is because ,in order to grow and change, we must first be discontent living in a self imposed prison. If you clearly and vividly imagine yourselves being and having the things you truly want, you will create a new picture of yourselves and lifestyle. The existing self imposed prison, in time, will be unacceptable and you will find the true meaning of living in a comfort zone. The choice is yours comfort zone or self emposed prison?
My Comfort Zone……Author Unknow
I used to have a comfort zone {self imposed prison} where I knew I wouldn’t
fail. The same four walls and busywork were really more like jail. I longed so much to do the things I’d never done before, But stayed inside my comfort zone {self imposed prison} and paced the same old floor.
I said it didn’t matter that I wasn’t doing much.
I said I didn’t care for things like commission checks and such. I claimed to be so busy with the things inside the zone,
But deep inside I longed for something special of my own.
I couldn’t let my life go by just watching others win.
I held my breath; I stepped outside and let the change begin.
I took a step and with new strength I’d never felt before,
I kissed my comfort zone goodbye and closed and locked the door.
If you’re in a comfort zone {self imposed prison}, afraid to venture out,
Remember that all winners were at one time filled with doubt.
A step or two and words of praise can make your dreams come true.
Reach for your future with a smile; success is there for you!

Is the Secret to Happiness in Life Health or Wealth?
The secret to happiness in life is the Health and Wealth Connection. I have a question for you… What is most important in life health or wealth? In a random poll of 500 people, who were asked this question the reply was 76% health; 24% wealth. I proposed that neither health nor wealth is most important. It is important to have both health and wealth.
All we need in life is health and wealth to be happy. The quality of our life ultimately depends on having health and wealth. How we define having health and wealth in our lives will not be the same for everyone because of our beliefs and personal convictions.
Average Health, no major illnesses, occasional asthma attacks; hypertension under control; take medication every day. Doctor visits and prescriptions covered by insurance. You need wealth to maintain your health….
Wealth, this is a very individual concept. Having $10,000 in the bank may be a fortune to one person but a pittance to someone else. The reality is we need enough cash coming in to be able to at least live comfortably, however we define what that is (again a very personal concept). When you have additional income to add to what you already have allows for affordable luxuries and an improved quality of life with more choices. You need health to enjoy the fruits of your labor and maintain your wealth…..
How do we achieve health and wealth? Does it seem like some people seem to have it all while others are lacking. Why is that? Is it luck, upbringing, hard work, genetics? I believe it is all three and each of us have within ourselves the ability to change the way we are. Our present reality is often a result of our own way of thinking that is holding us back. Lonely miserable people are prone to get ill more easily and tend not to do so well at work or may not be able to get work. This makes them more miserable along with robbing them of the health and wealth they could so easily have in their life. It’s that old vicious downward spiraling cycle of being stuck that brings you to rock bottom. You may be doing well in life then you become stagnant and redundant, you feel depressed, then you lose your self confidence, start to get ill, stop seeing friends, argue with your partner. Life turns out to be a dead end. When you take the steps needed to break this cycle, things will start to improve, one thing leads to another and you can start to reverse the cycle.
How can we succeed in achieving health and wealth in our lives? There are many techniques that can teach you how to change your behavior and mindset to ensure that you win rather than lose. You can learn how to take control of your thoughts, become motivated, increase your self esteem and feel great about yourself and life. To have health and wealth you need to feel that we are worthy of having it. If you do not feel worthy you will never be able to open the locked door to happiness in our life. When you ignore your worthiness you lay the foundation for anger, hate, unhappiness, illness, poverty, failure and lack. To acknowledge that you are worthy opens the door to love peace, happiness, success, prosperity and abundance in every area of your life.
In this article I wanted to share some “food for thought” on how to take back control of your life by understanding that “Health Is Wealth and Wealth Is Health it is your birthright to have both“. In conclusion I ask you the question what is most important, “Health or Wealth“?
