According to the American Medical Association stress is the cause of 85% of the illness  that effect the body.  Now the question to ask is how do you stop stress so you won&#8217;t get sick?</p>
<p>There are several techniques for dealing with the physical and emotional causes and consequences of stress. Short-term symptom relief and long-term cures for <a class="zem_slink" title="Chronic stress" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chronic_stress" rel="wikipedia">chronic stress</a> are possible. But there are many common strategies employed that are counter-productive. There are a million ways to go wrong. Here are some of the more typical errors.</p>
<p>In an attempt to alleviate the tension and worry that accompany stress, some individuals will unwittingly engage in <a class="zem_slink" title="Self-destructive behaviour" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-destructive_behaviour" rel="wikipedia">self-destructive behavior</a>.</p>
<p>The stress that can lead to being short-tempered can urge someone to lash out angrily at a trusted friend or loved one. It can incline some to excessive alcohol drinking or coffee drinking with the result of high caffeine intake, leading to more stress symptoms. It can lead to aggressive or violent behavior.</p>
<p>One of the most common results of stress is insomnia. When something is troubling you, and you are physically uncomfortable, it&#8217;s difficult to relax enough to sleep. When you do manage to fall asleep, it&#8217;s often interrupted during the night, or not the type of deep sleep that is genuinely restful.</p>
<p>Taking a sleeping medication may be helpful in some situations, but long term dependence on any kind of drug to deal with life&#8217;s problems is self-defeating. Instead, learn and use some simple meditation techniques to focus the mind and induce a relaxing state.</p>
<p>A heightened focus on <a class="zem_slink" title="Problem solving" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Problem_solving" rel="wikipedia">problem solving</a> is natural for some types of individuals. But obsessing, even in the face of serious issues, is counter-productive. Try to see the problem as you would if it were being experienced by a friend. You would be concerned, of course. We&#8217;re often much better at maintaining objectivity when the problem belongs to someone else.</p>
<p>Some people try to cope with stress by doing the right thing for the wrong reasons. Throwing oneself into projects at work is one way of shifting focus away from problems at home. But avoidance can only be partially successful, and only temporarily at that.</p>
<p>Some problems do go away on their own and ignoring them can be a viable strategy. But circumstances combined with evaluations that lead to chronic stress do not disappear simply because we&#8217;re not thinking about them. A temporary break to gain perspective and get the emotions under control is healthy. Hiding one&#8217;s head in the sand is not.</p>
<p>Fundamentally, all these incorrect and unhelpful methods have a common root. Reality doesn&#8217;t go away when some aspects of it are inconvenient or unpleasant. Life is filled with obstacles placed in the way of achieving values. The existence of those hurdles and the need to overcome them &#8211; when combined with doubts about our ability to do so &#8211; leads to stress.</p>
<p>Now that you have been given some insight on how not to deal with stress&#8230;.. Let&#8217;s begin dealing with stress by learning how to stop living in the past and accepting the 24/7 doom and gloom for the future. All you have is the present moment. Focus on what makes you feel really good and can put a smile on your face and you are on the road to kicking the stress out of your life.</p>

<p>The secret to <a class="zem_slink" title="Happiness" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Happiness">happiness</a> in life is the <a class="zem_slink" title="Health and Wealth Gospel" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_and_Wealth_Gospel">Health and Wealth</a> Connection. I have a question for you&#8230; What is most important in life <a class="zem_slink" title="Health" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health">health</a> or wealth? In a random poll of 500 people, who were asked this question the reply was 76% health; 24% wealth. I proposed that neither health nor wealth is most important. <p>All we need in life is health and wealth to be happy. The quality of our life ultimately depends on having health and wealth. How we define having health and wealth in our lives will not be the same for everyone because of our <a class="zem_slink" title="Belief" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belief">beliefs</a> and personal convictions.</p>
<p>Average Health, no major illnesses, occasional asthma attacks; hypertension under control; take medication every day. Doctor visits and prescriptions covered by insurance. You need wealth to maintain your health&#8230;.</p>
<p>Wealth, this is a very individual concept. Having $10,000 in the bank may be a fortune to one person but a pittance to someone else. The reality is we need enough cash coming in to be able to at least live comfortably, however we define what that is (again a very personal concept). When you have additional income to add to what you already have allows for affordable luxuries and an improved <a class="zem_slink" title="Quality of life" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quality_of_life">quality of life</a> with more choices. You need health to enjoy the fruits of your labor and maintain  your wealth&#8230;..</p>
<p>How do we achieve health and wealth?  Does it seem like some people seem to have it all while others are lacking. Why is that? Is it luck, upbringing, hard work, genetics? I believe it is all three and each of us have within ourselves the ability to change the way we are.  Our present reality is often  a result of our own way of thinking that is holding us back. Lonely miserable people are prone to get ill more easily and tend not to do so well at work or may not be able to get work. This makes them more miserable along with robbing them of the health and wealth they could so easily have in their life. It&#8217;s that old vicious downward spiraling cycle of being stuck that brings you to rock bottom. You may be doing well in life then you become stagnant and redundant, you feel   depressed, then you lose your self confidence, start to get ill, stop seeing friends, argue with your partner. Life turns out to be a dead end. When you take the steps needed to break this cycle, things will start to improve, one thing leads to another and you can start to reverse the cycle.</p>
<p>How can we succeed in achieving health and wealth in our lives? There are many techniques that can teach you how to change your behavior and mindset to ensure that you win rather than lose. You can learn how to take control of your thoughts, become motivated, increase your self esteem and feel great about yourself and life. To have health and wealth you need to feel that we are worthy of having it. If you do not feel worthy you will never be able to open the locked door to happiness in our life. When you ignore your worthiness you lay the foundation for anger, hate, unhappiness, illness, <a class="zem_slink" title="Poverty" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poverty">poverty</a>, failure and lack. To acknowledge that you are worthy opens the door to love peace, happiness, success, prosperity and abundance in every area of your life.</p>

Living on the east coast this pass week in the midst of a historical snowstorm, that had everyone snowed in and on &#8220;<strong><em>lock down</em></strong>&#8221; was a real awakening for me about what &#8220;<strong><em>Freedom</em></strong>&#8221; means.<br />
In the United States of America lies a large bureaucratic city which is the site of one of the world&#8217;s largest labor camps. Located in and around the center of this city are community settlements where the government workers live. Each morning the workers move herd-like from their quarters into the labor camps. Each one is at his or her station by 7:30 AM. Here they report to their master for the day&#8217;s duties. And here they remain stationed until 5:00 PM when they&#8217;re released to go home.</p>
<p>The workers have no choice as to how many hours they must labor. Sometimes they are required to work overtime until their master tells them they may leave and go home. Each year the workers are told when to take their vacations, for how long, and when they must return. They have little choice as to how much money they earn as they are paid not what they are worth, but what the job is worth. They are allowed very little time for lunch and coffee breaks during the labor hours.</p>
<p>The workers will remain in their position in great fear because the master can punish them with the &#8220;firing&#8221; or &#8220;layoff&#8221; notice. It is said that even some of the older workers who have been good and faithful have felt the sting of the notice. Day by day, year-by-year, the workers toil and grow older until the master decides it is time to release them to the retirement camps where they&#8217;re forced to sit idle and wait for death. It&#8217;s a well-known fact that the old workers who try to keep working are sometimes hit with a&#8221;stop-their-pension&#8221; notice.</p>
<p>I know these work camps exist for I once was a worker. But now I am a free person who lives among the workers. The reason I am free is because I am in business for myself as an Entrepreneur. Yes, I am truly free. I arise in the morning at the hour called for by my schedule. I decide my own hours. I can even sleep in late while the workers are at work. I can vacation when, where, and for how long I please. I&#8217;m free to take my coffee break and lunch when I decide. And of course, I can decide my own paycheck because I am not a worker.</p>
<p>I can choose to work when and where I please and with whom I please. I&#8217;m free to stay in the city for as long as I want, or to move on to greener pastures if I decide to. I&#8217;ve seen many workers sadly pack their belongings to leave their city in search of a new master, but it is always the same.</p>
<p>There is, however, a ray of hope for the worker. He or she can buy their own freedom. The cost is not high,yet it seems high to those who do not have the courage to pay the price. What is the price? 30+ inches of snow is a reality message that &#8220;Freedom&#8221; means &#8221; <a title="Choose to be Free" href=" http://books.google.com/books?id=__igh164lOcC&amp;lpg=PP1&amp;dq=to%20be%20free&amp;pg=PP1#v=onepage&amp;q=&amp;f=false"><strong><em>ONE MUST BE WILLING TO BE ONE&#8217;S OWN MASTER</em></strong>&#8220;! </a></p>
